Nursing Home turned into a studio by volunteers
Marijke Wessel (kunstbreak) decided to donate her time and talent to organize with other volunteers a creative programme for residents from a nursing home in Berkel en Rodenrijs. Artists from 5 studios came together to carry out the project called "together we colour the world"
During 1 week the hall of the nursing home was transformed into a studio and more than 100 elderly joined the workshops. "I never knew that my mother or father could create a painting like this", is a comment many visitors shared
"It was an inspiring and positive week for all" Marijke explains. "We got great feedback from the residents, the staff and visitors and I hope that more activities like this will take place in the future". "It was quite some work but seeing the results, it was worth the effort"
The Royal Talens Foundation supported the volunteers with the donation of painting materials.
